TRAINING AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Experiential based programming
Hones Skills, Builds trust, and promotes change!

So much information, so little time! Organizations these days are bombarded with new, often critical, information daily. Organizations that fail to manage this information, to analyze it effectively, and to use it to their advantage stand little to no chance of survival in today’s ultra-competitive world of commerce.

Gone are the days when all a manager needed to get the work done was a bunch of extra hands and legs to do the work. Teams today offer significant advantages, bringing more experience, more knowledge, and more ideas to the fray than any one individual possibly could. Unfortunately, through most of our lives, the emphasis for success in the world has been on individual performance, Teddy Roosevelt charging San Juan hill, the hero who comes in to save the day. Today’s world requires much, much more, and all teams can benefit from taking the time to hone their skills of working together. At MountainShadow Challenge, teamwork is learned, emphasized, and practiced in interactive, thoroughly participative and fun ways that challenge thinking and increase group awareness of the dynamics at play.

In this increasingly complex environment, more and more organizations are realizing that traditional hierarchic structures no longer respond rapidly enough to meet their customers’ or their employees’ needs. Restructuring often means new skills, and in many cases these skills are not technical, but relational. Unfortunately, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce reports that 85 to 90 per cent of all training dollars currently spent are on technical skills training, while line managers report that 87 to 95 per cent of all problems they face are not technical problems but people problems.   Lee Iacco, while commanding the most significant turnaround in Chrysler's history, noticed the same thing when he said of mid level managers:
A major reason capable people fail to advance is that they don’t work well with their colleagues.

So what are successful, forward thinking companies doing? Many organizations are turning to the power of teams to reenergize their efforts. They’re learning how to transform the processes of their work, focusing their efforts on being more responsive to customers and developing greater resiliency to change. At MountainShadow Challenge, our mission is to assist organizations in learning and practicing those skills that promote team effectiveness, enhancing their ability to work together successfully and tackle new challenges head on.  We are practiced in working with community agencies and groups of all sizes and challenges.  We are practiced in the art of change.  We do not just talk about it we make it happen.  If you have question about how to get your agency, organization, service club, or group back on the road to success call us or drop us a line.

Our work with community groups includes such gatherings as: Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Church Youth Groups, Elementary, Middle and High School classes, Family days, Reintegration programs for youth returning from Nevada youth training centers, and various residential treatment centers.
